No, I have not abandoned this venue. I have had considerable academic responsibilities and have devoted myself to those endeavors, along with a nice archeological dig in Syria...

Nevertheless, I am as sincere as ever to advance the cause of God through Jesus Christ. (not the false-Christ of Mormonism, nor merely the prophet Isa of Islam, but Jesus the Messiah of the New Testament).

So many interesting things are happening in the world now. So many things are in place to bring about the anti-Christ. So many ancient prophecies are coming to pass.

Old men are dreaming dreams and young men are seeing visions. The Gospel is being preached throughout the world.

The end of this time is near. Soon we shall witness the glorious return of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

You better be ready.

Islam, Domestic Terrorism, and Political Correctness

Make no mistake, Dr. Nidal Hasan was an Islamic Jihadist. The murders were not just a fit of a madman, as the Army and national press want to make it out. It was domestic terrorism. If we don't quit being so concerned with political correctness, we (Americans) are all going to be paying for it with our own freedom.

The events at Ft Hood should wake us up to the fact that Islam IS NOT A RELIGION OF PEACE. It is a religion that follows as false god called Allah, either made up in the mind of a self-proclaimed prophet, Mohamed, or presented by a demon masquerading as an angel of God to trick Mohamed into tricking the world.

Remember the words of Paul: "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!" Galatians 1:8

Marcus says, "Don't hate Muslims; they are lost people looking for salvation. Show it to them through Jesus Christ!" People don't "convert" or "switch" from Islam to Christianity; they do it like everyone else- they get saved.

Luqman Ameen Abdullah was the imam of the Masjid al-Haqq mosque located in Dearborn. The FBI filed charges against Abdullah and 11 of his followers for conspiracy to commit federal crimes and firearms offenses, prompting the suspects to flee to a warehouse. Abdullah refused to surrender and opened fire on the FBI agents. Reports indicate that Abdullah wanted to create an Islamist state within the United States governed by Islamic Shariah law. Abdullah allegedly had conversations with undercover agents and federal informants in which he discussed plans to attack the 2006 Super Bowl in Detroit.

I found a very good question over on Mormon Coffee that no one seems to be interested in answering.

On November 3rd, I wrote:

Rick B asks, “If Jesus quotes from the OT and speaks of kings and prophets that span 1,000 of years and different countries, even going so far as to go back before the flood, why does Jesus or the apostles NEVER mention BoM prophets, places, people, stories, or anything for that matter?

You would at least think that all of these people heading off for America would at least be MENTIONED in one of the OT stories, or alluded to by somebody.

So, what about this?

I agree with asking this question. If Jesus quotes prophets from the Old Testament, why didn't He quote prophets mentioned in the Book of Mormon? That seems to be a simple straight-forward question that deserves a real answer.

The Hill Cumorah

It is a good thing that Mormon apologists are able to create such scholarly works, otherwise the Church would look mighty foolish!

Take, for example, the Hill Cumorah in New York. Since the contrivance of Mormonism, it has been contended by Joseph Smith himself, his witnesses, and the following prophets that the Hill Cumorah in New York is the actual Hill Cumorah written about in the book of Mormon.

Lately, however, it appears that folks are worried, if real scientific scrutiny would be applied, the Hill wouldn't live up to it's claim.

So now, Mormons are saying that the Hill may be where JS found the golden tablets, but it isn't the same Hill where the great battles of the BoM took place.

How convenient!

The Hill Cumorah

This Mormon apologist writes:

"In summary, the archaeology of New York is persuasive evidence that Book of Mormon peoples did not live in that region. By implication, the Cumorah of the golden plates is not the Cumorah of the final battles."

In accord with these general observations about New York and Pennsylvania, we come to our principal object—the Hill Cumorah. Archaeologically speaking, it is a clean hill. No artifacts, no walls, no trenches, no arrowheads. The area immediately surrounding the hill is similarly clean. Pre-Columbian people did not settle or build here. This is not the place of Mormon’s last stand. We must look elsewhere for that hill."

But, historically, the following has been stated about the Hill Cumorah:

"The great and last battle, in which several hundred thousand Nephites perished was on the hill Cumorah, the same hill from which the plates were taken by Joseph Smith, the boy about whom I spoke to you the other evening." (Talk given by Apostle Orson Pratt, Feb. 11, 1872 Journal of Discourses Vol. 14, pg. 331)

"These records were carried by Ether from the hill Ramah, afterwards called Cumorah, where the Jaredites were destroyed, as well as the Nephites." (Talk given by Apostle Orson Pratt, May 18, 1873 Journal of Discourses Vol. 16, pg. 50

"It will be, next Thursday night, 54 years since the Prophet Joseph Smith, then but a lad, was permitted by the angel of the Lord to take the gold plates of the Book of Mormon from the hill Cumorah, as it was called in ancient times, located in the State of New York. "The passages which I have quoted from the Book of Mormon and the more extended discussion of this subject by Elder B. H. Roberts which was published in The Deseret News of March 3, 1928, definitely establish the following facts: That the Hill Cumorah, and the Hill Ramah are identical; that it was around this hill that the armies of both the Jaredites and Nephites, fought their great last battles; that it was in this hill that Mormon deposited all of the sacred records which had been entrusted to his care by Ammaron, except the abridgment which he had made from the plates of Nephi, which were delivered into the hands of his' son, Moroni. Well, if that is the case, let's look at some quotes from former Mormon leaders:

Joseph Fielding Smith, on page 192 of The Restoration of All Things, stated, "One of the most pernicious doctrines ever advocated by man, is the doctrine of 'justification by faith alone,' which has entered into the hearts of millions since the days of the so-called 'reformation.'" (When the prophet speaks, the debate is over, right? )

Spencer W. Kimball echoed the same sentiments in his book, The Miracle of Forgiveness. Under the sub-heading "Faith and Works" (p. 206), the 12th LDS President wrote, "In view of the emphasis thus far made on the importance of good works in returning from sin and establishing a repentant life, it may be well to say a word about the idea of salvation by faith alone. Some people not of our Church like to quote, in support of that concept, the following words of Paul: 'For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.' (Eph. 2:8-9.)" Kimball went on to say, "One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation."

That is utter blasphemy! Dear LDS members, you have been deceived. Your church is not teaching you about the Jesus that has the power to save you from your sins! They are teaching you about someone THEY call Jesus, who is not the genuine article.

Have you ever thought that both Islam and Mormonism claim to have received their revelations from an angel from heaven?

Galatians 1:8 says, "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!" (NASB)

Mormons will try to argue that they aren't preaching a "different gospel". It continually amazes/amuses me that they try to use that line of thinking. If it isn't different, why even HAVE the Mormon church? Oh yes... they are trying to restore the gospel. Just like they "restored" the Book of Abraham"? Man's fabrication from beginning to end. Nothing at all to do with God.

I'll get to that in another post.

Islam (Denies Truth is the son of God)
Mormonism (Says that Truth and Lucifer are brothers; sons of a man-cum-god)
Gay Christian Movement (Denies Truth is able to transform and calls Truth a liar)
Buddhism (Claims that someone else is Truth and that Truth wasn't needed)
